Pocket Prayer

(composed in the footprint of the 'Our Father')

You who hold us all...

Who live in, and through, and beyond everything,

Hallowed be Thy name, beyond names.

May thy light prevail upon the Earth

And Thy love preside within our hearts ~

above all judgment...

And Thy will be done,

For the good of all.

Give us this day

Provisions of body, mind and spirit.

And lift our eyes

To the remembrance of gratitude.

Forgive us our lapses

Into selfishness or fear.

As we forgive others

Who falter from grace.

And veer us from the pull

Of descending forces

But keep us on your ascending path

For thine is the causality,

The effectuation and the destination,

Now and forever,

Amen. 

Bedtime Prayer

In gratitude,

I make an offering of this day.

The toil of it unburdened,

Its treasures turned to filigree.

To you, to you...

All things to you.

Dissolved, Absolved

By your alchemy transmuted

Into the gold of meaningfulness.

Behold my heart;

This is what it feels like to be human

In this time, in this place,

Through this being.

I dedicate all that I am,

Have been and will be,

To your greater purpose.

Make me an agent of your love!

And place your peace upon my brow

as I surrender 

To the blessing of sleep...

Morning Prayer

 I call myself present to this day.

With each breath,

Casting off the veil of dreams.

With each breath,

Receiving the gift of morning.

And without prediction,

I hold the orb of possibility...

Grateful for this new beginning.

Lightward,

I dedicate my aim.

May the arc of my passage

Join the current of ascending forces

and be guided by Kindness,

Goodwill and compassion.

I place in my heart,

A beacon of reminder,

To walk with love

And leave a wake of peace.

I ask my higher consciousness

To stay at the helm,

And not let me overlook

The miracles - at work and at play

All around me...

Nor let me miss the opportunity

To play my part int them!

Let not the passing slip so swiftly,
I want to watch the wind
Sway~dancing with the distant trees

Carrying the waters of almost rain.

Time to stand and stare,
My Grandmother asked for
Time to stand and stare.
Yet time still took her
And stills for me no less.

And as I feel the quickening
Of my child growing within,
And the list of things to do
Surpasses the fortitude of my stamina,
I, too, find myself asking
For time to stand and stare.

Faith

The friends of Faith are Patience & Perseverance.
Flanked she walks, hand~in~hand with them both.

Faith is not troubled by time
But sits by it like a man cooling his feet in the river.
Let's sit with him for a while
Until the stream washes the tiredness from our feet
And we are renewed for the journey.
